Anza-Borrego Desert: No Return Canyon Slot

Rating *****
Length 8.8 mile (return) - 4 Hour (Round trip). Easy/Moderate.
Elevation 250 - 1270 feet
Access Drive the dirt road into fish creek (take the one to the right) for about 0.4 mile. Most car should be able to make it, if not park along the asphalt.

A nice wash, with a narrow slot like canyon to the end. The wash starts out as an easy sandy (firm) wash.
There isn't a clear main wash, so follow any small wash in the right direction.
Later on the wash is filled with more and more small rocks.

As the wash turns left, it narrows a lot.
More rocks and some boulders.

At the fork, take the small wash to the right (West).
A small dry fall, but with plenty of rocks sticking out for an climb up.
The hike ends at a fork, you can go further, but the wash gets steeper with more and larger boulders.

Alternative:

An alternative route with car shuttle takes you to the Elephant tree trail head.
The hiking distance is the same, the alternative rout is more rocky for 1/4 of this route.

How to get here:

Drive carefully on the dirt road into fish creek (take the one to the right, there may be soft sand) for about 0.4 mile.
Park at a small sandy wash with a sign foot travel only. (sometimes washed away)
"Road" conditions vary a lot and there is loose sand out there and rocks.

The alternative Elephant tree "road" may be a bit rocky and you need some ground clearance, or simply hike the short road.
