Anza-Borrego Desert: View of badlands wash loop

Rating *****
length 9.8 Mile - 4 hour, 5 minutes (Loop), Easy.
Elevation 940 - 1415 feet
Access Most cars, close to Palm Spring exit, see below.

This scenic badlands loop follows the wash road up to the "badlands viewpoint".
Next it follows washes up to a fork of the June wash.
On the way back the route leaves the June wash and heads back in wider washes towards the car.

An alternative route A1 is included in the GPX download, shortening the loop to 3 hours and 15 minutes.

This is a GPS only hike.

We are mapping all the Asters in the park, more info can be found here: Xylorhiza orcuttii

How to get here:

Take the the signed exit Palm Spring (Vallecito Creek). (on the S2 close to mile 43)
Park at the next road on the left.
The road is normally OK to drive, but there may be some soft sand, in that case without a 4x4 park earlier.
